Two Very Different Birth Experiences

I want to start by saying thank-you so much for your film. I, like Ricki, had two very different birth experiences. My first birth was much like being raped, I have often said that if the *#$* doctor had raped me it would not have made the experience worse. I felt so strongly about it that when I became pregnant with my second child I called to schedule an abortion because I just couldn’t go through “that” again. Greatfully, I had a friend at the time who convinced me that it could be different. She introduced me to a Midwife and “The Bradley Method of Natural Childbirth” which is what I used for my second child. I would love to have had a home birth but my husband was completely against the idea, it terrified him. I was so changed by the experience that I am now a Bradley Childbirth Instructor. I am constantly amazed and saddened by what I see and hear happening in the birth community both locally and nationally and I’m thrilled to see people (especially with name recognition and resources) speaking out for these woman and for their unborn children and their right to have a safe, active, life stimulating labor and birth. Thank you!
