Abby and Ricki visit MANA conference
Here is an aerial shot of beautiful Traverse City, Michigan. Abby and I visited last weekend at the MANA conference where they honored us for our work on BOBB.
It was a great couple of days. I have to admit that I was not psyched to get on two planes (one taking off at 6 AM and the other very very small) but once I arrived I knew I would be glad I made the trip. From the airport, I met up with Abby already on stage doing the Q&A after the screening at The State Theater. It is a beautiful theater that Michael Moore refurbished. Then we did a panel discussion with a doc, homebirth midwife, and homebirth VBAC mom.
Later that night we received our award at the Gala dinner filled with midwives from all over. It was really sweet and Dina’s tribute video was hilarious.
The next morning we had breakfast with the group, did a little meet and greet, then did a couple of interviews, and ended our trip with an incredible massage.
All in all it was an inspiring weekend and I was glad to be there. I love midwives!
