About Amy Willen, CNM, MSN

Amy Willen, CNM discovered midwifery in her college years and felt called to the profession. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in 2004. During her time there, she was able to complement her university education with occasional experiences with the Certified Professional Midwives at The Farm in Summertown, Tennessee. Thus having gained an appreciation for midwifery care in all settings, she practiced at Holy Family Services, a freestanding birth center on the Texas-Mexico border, and then went on to work for 2 years at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, caring for the underserved populations of Southeast Texas in a high volume hospital. She currently lives in Chicago, Illinois where she works with another CNM in a private practice www.awomansplacechicago.com that offers both home birth and hospital birth to a wide variety of Chicago families.
