About Hilary Prager, CNM, MPH

Hilary Prager taught 6th grade for three years. Although she loved working with her students, she knew that there was something else waiting for her. She joined the Peace Corps and spent the next two years living in the Philippines, working on women's health and education, and meeting midwives. Seeing how midwives kept communities healthy and whole by caring for and educating women about their health, she decided that becoming a midwife was the direction her life needed to take. After completing her midwifery degree and her MPH from Columbia University, she started working at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in the South Bronx. She works continually to promote the profession of midwifery through her local and state organizations, and midwifery goals of prevention, education, and empowerment.
